Deploying SIP Enterprise services replaced traditional ISDN circuits at each site. Each of services providing 350 SIP Channels. Each channel supporting 1 concurrent call.
As customer originally utilised older Cisco 2800 and 2900 series Integrated Service Routers (ISRs) for the ISDN services at each location, New Cisco 4331 ISR were used as Session Border Controller Devices (SBC) at disparate data centres. These devices are certified by the ITSP for use with SIP connect and can scale to 500 concurrent SIP channels if required.
Enterprise Trunking allows all numbers in the number ranges to use either SIP trunk for both inbound and outbound calls, meaning the product is completely resilient to any network failures at a particular location.
The transition from ISDN to SIP Connect was managed in 3 phases:
- SIP Service Order and Installation
- SIP Provisioning
- SIP Commissioning at each site in separate migration windows
