Customer had an old out of support HP switch stack, with Fortigate firewalls on the front end. They had about 20 on premise VM’s on legacy hardware and want to migrate all of their IT workload to Microsoft Azure. They have patchy WiFi coverage and were unable to locate the position of the 4 wireless AP’s.
Layer 8 Networks replaced their core network with a stack of Meraki 225 full POE switches. We were able to stand them up alongside the existing infrastructure and replace their edge connectivity in the office without disrupting remote access to the server resources for the customer support team (working from home – thanks COVID).
Layer 8 Networks also refreshed the legacy Fortigate firewalls, also allowing their managed services providers to connect and remotely manage their network. Lastly we provisioned a new Azure tenant, creating 4 network security groups and controlling access between them with a virtual Fortigate appliance in Azure. Connectivity between Azure and the customer head office was with a Velo cloud SD-WAN solution provided by a third party.
